narrative poem

Summer is in the time
that goes like quicksand.

Proclaiming, see you next year,
we wave, begin to tear.

With these tears, the further we go
the tighter we are coiled.

We hold onto each others image,
hold each others smile.

Then meaning of "The Raven" is filled with sadness, he is upset because he cared about a women and he had died and this bird came and began to mock him but in reality it was just him being sad. he feels scared and he looks to his books for comfort and he doesnt find it all he finds is sarrow he becomes scared and tells himself it is just someone tapping knocking but it wasnt it was the darkness scaring him.






The poem has and internal rhyme scheme. he uses alot of iliteration.




The setting of this poem is in the man house and it must have been a dark and down day with lots of wind that made things move and scare him.

Limerick

there once was a girl named Kate,
she was always very late
it made her parents very mad
but then she got oh so sad
now Kate is there by eight o'clock on the dot.

How Do You Feel About Poetry?

I feel that poetry is very important because it allows you to be yourself and express how you feel. I like that there are different poems and I love writing poems. I find it very easy to write whenever I'm in a certain mood. Whether it's mad, happy, or sad its best to write, in my opinion.

Annelies Marie Frank (Anne Frank)

young, smart, strong, jewish

scared when hiding, shocked when some food is stolen, loves talking to Peter

her thoughts to her diary, her diary to the world, and inspiration to every little girl struggling

getting caught, loosing her family, and not being as pretty as her sister

experienced hiding, writing in a journal even though she was new at it, and got caught hiding with her family

Anne Frank did die, so did her mother and sister but her dad did make it and Miep Gies did as well. Although Anne died she still lives on through her diary and museums of her.

1) This poem is about how hard the mother has had it in her life and how she wants better for him and is telling him even though she's been through a lot, she's still going on with her life and that he doesn't have to go through the same hard times she went through.

2) The theme is struggles, or maybe even slavery.

3) Th mother wants her son to succeed, and not reach a low point in his life like she has in hers. And that life may be tough but he still has to keep going on with it, just like she has.

4) Tacks and splinters would be the metaphors because they both hurt.

Metaphor

1. I think the morning is like a fresh start
it changes everyday, and involves new opportunities
some days are a good new start and others make u want to restart your morning all over again.



2. if the poem said "each day is a new sheet of paper" the poem would be less effective because its not explaining exactly what's like a new sheet of paper, i like when poems are more specific so if it said "each morning is like a new sheet of paper, that you write on all day" then it would make more sense and would be more clear to the reader.
